I’ll let you in on a little secret.  There are times when I just don’t feel like exercising.  I don’t mean a hard ass session at the gym, I mean even a little jog around the block.

Maybe the motivation just isn’t there …

I’m a bit too busy and I can’t spare even 25 minutes …

I don’t feel fit …

I’m tired …

I need to hang that load of washing out …

My legs are still a bit tired and sore from my netball game on Saturday …

I have work to do …

Someone might see me out running and realise that I’m not as fit as I used to be …

My left pinky is a bit sore ( it’s not really but you get where I’m going with this … )

These are all excuses … there’s not even any important ones there, like the dog needs washing!  They are just excuses because I don’t feel like getting out of my own way or doing anything other than what has to be done.

But, I have a goal.  It’s not as big as some of the ones I’ve made in the past, but it’s MY goal and it’s important to ME.  I needed to ask myself if I’m going to let myself down, feel guilty and then think beat myself up because I’m lazy.  Ah, no! You know why? Because what I want to do is important to ME and no one else.

What I am getting at here, is that there really aren’t that many excuses that are more important than how you want to feel or what YOU want to do.  If you want to feel fitter, or stronger, or healthier, then stop getting in your own way and do something about it!  Yes, I know it seems like an effort sometimes, and it might feel uncomfortable, but think about the rewards … fitter, stronger, healthier, lose weight, more energy, feel great, feel more confident, fit into those jeans … the list of rewards is so much longer than the excuses right now. Find a way to reap the rewards.

Anyway, moving on … these are my rewards for getting on with my scheduled workout … getting outside and taking these pictures …
