We all know that losing weight and getting the results you want has a lot to do with what you eat, how much you move, the type of movement you do. I’m sure you’ve heard that it’s 80% what you eat & 20% exercise.  And while I do believe that this is true, it really doesn’t tell the whole story .. it doesn’t include mindset .. YOUR mindset. 

How do you think, what do you think about, what do you think about yourself!

What you say & think to yourself when you look in the mirror .. and even when you don’t. And this .. your mindset, is a bigger factor than you think when it comes to achieving the results that you want. 

When you make a decision to make a change or even before that, when you think about making a decision to make changes, your mind is in charge .. and it’s not always your conscious mind. Your unconscious mind begins to chat to you. A little devil on your shoulder if you will! 

When you make the decision to make changes to your health & fitness, your focus is on food & movement. I am not going to take away from that focus, in fact it still needs to be a front of mind / physical focus for you … but it will be in your mind that the big changes are made!

Research has shown that how & what you think can actually help to change your physiology. It certainly has a big impact on your actions. Keeping your thoughts, actions & goals positive will go a long way to achieving your goal. 

Here’s an exercise you can try to start the process of changing your thinking .. I want you to visualise yourself, not as you are right now in this moment .. no judging yourself .. visualise yourself 6 months into the future. 

Visualise your most amazing you … 

  • how do you look?
  • how do you feel? 
  • what are you doing? 
  • what CAN you do now?
  • visualise yourself as the amazing woman that you want to be … 

Stamp this mental picture on your brain, refer to her often, allow her to come to life!

Use it as a little meditation …

  • think about her when you wake up in the morning before you get out of bed
  • when you are having a shower, imagine how you look, how you feel
  • when you hop into bed at night
  • whenever you are feeling a little flat or negative, visualise fabulous future you!

Keep this vision with you always. Think about her often!
